Martha Press, Owner and Executive Director of the Farnsworth Gallery, is no stranger to the world of art. She has established a tradition of fine purveyance, trusted service, and support to collectors, artists, and the artistic and cultural community, for more than 10 years. Originally founded as the Lafayette Gallery, in 1999, the West Lafayette Street location, in Trenton, New Jersey, remained the home for the gallery for seven years before Martha's decision to relocate to 134 Farnsworth Avenue in the heart of Bordentown, New Jersey, to join that city's burgeoning culture scene. Now, known as the Farnsworth Gallery, the establishment continues to grow under Martha's leadership, with the support of a vital advisory board. The Farnsworth Gallery is housed in a charming 19th century structure with walls which are covered with art ranging from the works of notable regional and international artists; including individuals based in New York, Atlanta, and Moscow, who's resumes speak to their talent and acclaim. Under Martha's direction, the gallery provides a collection spanning investment pieces through entry-level items offering an opportunity for everyone, including the educated eye and the new buyer, to choose unique quality work to be enjoyed for a lifetime, and shared with future generations. In addition to fine art in painting, photography, glasswork and sculpture, the Farnsworth Gallery carries beautifully crafted contemporary and vintage jewelry, as well as small antiques and collectables, with prices on specially selected gift items starting at under $20.00. Join us the Third Friday of each month when artists and art enthusiasts come together for a lively open house where good conversation and laughter fill the air! Read the "Algonquin" South article.
